BOXING icon Manny Pacquiao heads the list of Filipino world titleholders in the Elorde Banquet of Champions during the 6th Gabriel “Flash” Elorde Memorial Awards set March 25 at the Dusit Hotel Nikko in Makati City.
Pacquiao, whose win over Mexican Hector Velasquez in September last year gave him worldwide fame, will receive the Boxer of the Year award for the fifth time.
The Elorde Memorial Awards is presented by Johnny Elorde Management International and the Gabriel “Flash” Elorde Foundation.
The Elorde clan, led by Elorde’s wife, Laura, will be on hand to present the various awards. Daughter-in-law Liza Elorde is overseeing the event honoring the former world champion.
The event is sponsored by Philippine Amusements and Gaming Corp., Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Family Rubbing Alcohol, Smart Communications Inc., San Miguel Corp., Casa Belrina Travel, Johnson & Johnson, Bai & Mig Party Favors and Elorde Sports Center.
