BOXING icon and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao yesterday paid Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim a courtesy visit at city hall.
Pacquiao was accompanied by former congressman Miles Roces, Mindoro Rep. Joe Umali and Solar Films executive Wilson Tieng.
They were met by Lim, along with secretary to the mayor Rafaelito Garayblas, assistant secretaries Pio Garayblas and Romeo Cairme, and chief of staff and media bureau chief Ric de Guzman.
The pound-for-pound king presented Lim with an autographed jacket and DVD copies of his fights. He said he is willing to conduct a motorcade around Manila.
The mayor gave him the symbolic key to the city. He congratulated Pacquiao and thanked him for making the employees and fans happy by visiting City Hall.
Lim said.
Pacquiao finds the mayor very kind and was elated by his praises for him. He said his visit promotes unity, stressingpolitics should be dropped once elections are over.
A city hall official, who asked not to be named, said the champion had been wanting to visit Lim but was reportedly discouraged by former environment secretary Lito Atienza. Jerry S. Tan
