Manny Pacquiao’s defeat of Shane Mosley is generating a buzz that the event did very well. The final numbers have yet to be officially reported, but initial indications from TOP RANK point towards 1.4 million Pay-per-view buys.
The live event cost $54.99 to purchase (add $10 for feeds provided for HD-TV). So if 1.4 million PPV spans out to be true (or close to it), that would generate a revenue somewhere in the vicinity of $70 million.
Official numbers are expected out sometime this week. Doghouse Boxing will report the official PPV numbers for Pacquiao vs. Mosley as soon as they are available.
