Pacquiao takes jet to attend session

But fails to get to give speech on reproductive health bill

MANILA, Philippines – The lower House passed Resolution 109 on Monday. congratulating Saranggani Rep. Manny Pacquiao for defending his crown against Sugar Shane Mosley.

The resolution was presented in the plenary. Pacquiao spoke in Filipino to thank his colleagues, the media, and his fan.

The session then went on a break.

Pacquiao reportedly flew in to Manila on a private jet as he wanted to have the chance to speak about the reproductive health (RH) bill in the plenary.

However, interpellations are scheduled on Tuesday and he will have to register and get in line before he gets a chance to speak.

As of last week, 58 lawmakers had registered to interpellate about the RH bill.

Compared to his last victory celebration, a more austere welcome was laid out for Pacquiao at the House of Representatives.

Unlike his last party that occupied the entire back lobby, this time around, a small set up was prepared only in the foyer and office of House Majority Leader Boyet Gonzales adjacent to the south lounge.

There was no set up for musical bands.

The House seems to have run out of awards for Pacquiao since it has already bestowed him with the highest available award from Congress, the Congressional Medal of Distinction.
