BOXING hero Manny Pacquiao, who was a no-show at the preliminary investigation on Monday on a case filed against him by a former girlfriend before a Quezon City fiscal, will be open to a settlement, according to his legal counsel.
Joanne Rose Bacosa last month sued the boxing hero for his alleged failure to give financial support to their two-year old son.
“We are open to a possible settlement when the time comes,” said Pacquiao’s lawyer Jose Crisostomo.
Crisostomo’s comment was an answer to a question posed by reporters if a settlement was discussed during the 45-minute closed-door preliminary hearing.
“It’s still too early to talk about settlement and we are still waiting for their counter-affidavit,” said Bacosa’s lawyer Ric Rodriguez said.
