MANILA, Philippines ? General Santos (GenSan) City, hometown of boxing superstar and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao, is preparing a hero?s welcome for their beloved son.
The local government of GenSan was busy setting up their tribute to Pacquiao, who successfully defended his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title against Shane Mosley last May 7 in Las Vegas.
GenSan officials also prepared a float to be used for the Filipino champion?s motorcade.
Pacquiao is due to arrive in GenSan on Sunday to attend his mother?s 62nd birthday celebration.
After the motorcade, Pacquiao will make a quick trip to Sarangani province on board a private plane before heading to the Pacquiao Gym in GenSan where the birthday party will take place. — With a report from Anne Santos, ABS-CBN News SOKSARGEN
