LESS THAN 24 hours after the Filipino pugilist Brian “Hawaiian Punch” Viloria retained his World Boxing Council light flyweight title against the Mexican Jose Antonio Aguirre, an enterprising member of the online trading portal eBay is already selling a record of the fight. “Tjwebber17” based in California, USA is selling a DVD of the fight for 7.99 US dollars. The DVD also contains the three undercard fights prior to the main event.
The eBayer sells various titles on DVDs mainly to US buyers. Apparently, “tjwebber17” is following on the previous success of eBay memorabilia from last month’s Manny Pacquiao boxing victory.
By comparison, there are about a dozen souvenirs of Pacquiao’s fight against Erik Morales in January. These include a DVD recording of the fight, t-shirts, replica shorts, posters, and a music CD.
The 25-year old Viloria, a Filipino raised in Hawaii, fought Aguirre in Las Vegas, Nevada last February 19 (Manila time). Viloria won by unanimous decision after 12 rounds.
