Show biz challenge for champ

A MONTHLY ALLOWANCE, EDUCATIONAL expenses and a trust fund—Manny Pacquiao is willing to give these to the boy that Joanna Bacosa says is their son.

“I just want to make that clear,” Pacquiao told Inquirer Entertainment even if his lawyer, Jose Crisostomo Jr., and two marketing consultants, Relly de Leon and Jake Joson, tried to stop him from talking about the matter.

But the three allowed Pacquiao to discuss his show biz career. The boxing champ has signed up with FLT Films International for a bio pic—except that the boxer, now a multi-millionaire, invested back into the project what would have been the payment for his story.

He refused to say how much this was, but apparently the price was much higher than his P700,000 talent fee for starring in a movie last year, “Lisensyadong Kamao,” with sexy actresses Juliana Palermo and Aubrey Miles.

Pacquiao hand-picked actor Jericho Rosales to portray him in the FLT movie simply titled, “Pacquiao.” He explained his choice:

“Jericho knows boxing.”

Difficult

In an exclusive interview, Pacquiao told Inquirer, “It’s difficult to be in both show biz and in sports.”

He is set to make two other movies, a fantasy film and a romantic comedy.

In a separate interview, “Pacquiao” director Joel Lamangan said the bio pic will not be treated as an ordinary boxing film. “It has to reflect the social and cultural makeup of the place where he grew up and which shaped his mind, and which now needs a hero like him.”

At the same time, the director said, “This hero will not be a caricature on a monument; he will also be human.”

Pacquiao is human.

He complained of lack of sleep to Inquirer Entertainment during the interview.

“I only have two hours of sleep a day, at the most,” he said. He admitted that he missed going to the mall and that his wife has complained about his not having enough time for the family.

“Maybe, when I’m no longer a boxer, I can make it up to her,” he said.

And what would he be if he were no longer a boxer? “I could be a movie producer, maybe,” he said.

Pacquiao could also be a comedian. Asked who his favorite actor was, he said, “Eddie.”

Eddie who? Garcia?

“E, di ako,” Pacquiao said with glee.
