Marco Antonio Barrera, the legendary featherweight who suffered a crushing eleventh round TKO at the hands of Manny Pacquiao last Nov. 15 in San Antonio, Texas says he is prepared to fight Pacquiao in a rematch, even in the Philippines.
James Blears of the popular Web site Boxing Scene reports that Barrera made the statement even as his team, led by trainer Rudy Perez and Barrera?s elder brother, ex-fighter Jorge, were closing ranks in preparation for several warm-up fights before the rematch with Pacquiao.
Barrera?s first fight after his loss to Pacquiao is slated for March 13 in Las Vegas and although an opponent has yet to be chosen, Willie Jorrin, Bones Adams and Paulie Ayala are prime contenders.
