Team Mayweather Fails to Weather the Defamation Storm: United States District Judge Larry Hicks recently denied Team Mayweather?s motion to dismiss the defamation suit brought by Manny Pacquiao on December 30 2009. The lawsuit, which was the result of a host of allegations concerning Pacquiao?s alleged use of performance enhancing drugs, was kept alive after Judge Hicks found that Pacquiao ?sufficiently pled malice[,]? the key element in a defamation suit filed by a public figure.
