Pacquiao considers buying property in Baguio

SARANGANI Representative and boxing icon Manny Pacquiao revealed Wednesday night he and his wife?s intent to acquire a lot in Baguio City to build a vacation house.

The eight-division world boxing titlist, although suffering from colds, was happy when interviewed as he was about to wind-up this weekend his high altitude training in preparation for his title defense in the world super welterweight division on May 7.

?Nagplano kami ng asawa ko na bumili ng lote dito at magpatayo ng bahay bakasyunan (My wife and I planned to acquire a lot here and build a vacation house),? he said as he assured that Baguio remains a good place to stay.

Pacquiao has trained twice for his fight in this mountain resort 250 kilometers north of Manila.

In both instances, devastating typhoons hit the area. This time, however, the weather was most of the time fair with cloudy periods.

He said after his two-week training here, his team would leave for the United States of America for further training.

The Filipino boxing idol is set to defend his title against former world super bantamweight champion Sugar Shane Mosley.

Team Pacquiao assistant trainer Buboy Fernandez said their group is scheduled to leave Baguio this weekend en route to the US. (Aure Galacgac)
