One thing that I have learned about the boxing scribe world is that no matter how hard you want to stay out of drama, sooner or later the drama is going to hunt you down anyway. Let me first say that on 8CountNews.com we pride ourselves in the fact that what we report is factual, and we actually cite our sources. One of the nice things about 8CountNews.com is that we stream the audio of our interviews so that you, the fans, can listen verbatim to what the fighters and the trainers have to say. Once in a blue moon this pays off, and it has once again here in the past day or so.
Before I go further, since My Crawford of FightHype.com allegedly didn’t know who Floyd was talking about, and Floyd Mayweather Sr couldn’t remember who HE was talking about, let me help the both of them out. It was MY article on Examiner.com that Big Floyd is referring to.
A few days ago 8CountNews got Floyd Mayweather Sr on our Podcast show. We have always enjoyed having big Floyd on the show. The same could be said in our most recent interview with him. During the Podcast, just as he usually does, Big Floyd implied on several occasions that Manny Pacquiao uses steroids. Did Floyd come right out and say, “Manny Pacquiao is using steroids?” No, he did not do that, NOR did I ever write that he said that in any of my Examiner articles.
Definition of implied – involved, indicated, or suggested without being directly or explicitly stated; tacitly understood
During the Podcast with Floyd, I asked him who he thought would win between Pacquiao and Mosley, and he replied, “Well whatever the situation may be, Shane has been caught up that situation before….I am going to go with the man who hasn’t been caught. On the real deal, I think on the up and up, I think Shane would be victorious over him, if the situation was different.” This being many indirect ways that Big Floyd accuses Manny of using steroids. So fast forward to this morning. I started my usual morning boxing web surfing and I came across an interview conducted by Percy Crawford of FightHype.com. He interviewed Floyd Mayweather Sr, and within the interview Mr Mayweather felt the need to call yours truly a “Hillbilly mother F#c$-er. The title of the interview went like this, “Floyd Mayweather Sr: I didn’t say I know for a fact Pacquiao is on steroids” Here’s the funny thing. I never wrote in my article that Floyd said that he knew for a fact that Pacquiao was on steroids. READ my examiner article HERE, this is the article that Floyd is referring to. Please, I am begging you, someone please find within my article where this writer wrote that Floyd knows for a fact Pacquiao is on steroids. You wont find it, because it was never said.
Here is the problem folks. People like to twist things up and create their own little versions of things. I guarantee that whoever read my Examiner article about Floyd Mayweather Sr, he or she ran back to him and told him that I, this writer, wrote that Floyd knows for a fact that Pacquiao is using steroids. Floyd listened to whomever that person was and he got pissed off and he flew off the handle. He probably contacted Percy Crawford, and soon after the F bombs dropped.
What’s absolutely hilarious about this is where FightHype prints that Floyd Sr sets the record straight. Do you want to set the record straight? Just go to the 8CountNews Podcast page, look for the most recent Floyd Mayweather Sr Podcast and click the “play” button. You will get all of the record straightening that you need. When you are finished with that, go to my Examiner article linked above in this article, and read it. You will once again see that nowhere in that article do I write that Floyd knows for a fact that Pacquiao is on steroids.
In the FightHype interview with Floyd he also flies off of the handle talking about Freddie Roach and the money thing. Again, go read my examiner article and you can see for yourself what I wrote. It’s a fact that right now Manny Pacquiao and Freddie Roach are hard at work training for their fight Vs. Shane Mosley. Manny fought Margarito and cashed in, Roach cashed in, and now they both are about to cash in again. Floyd on the other hand has been spending his time on Twitter bashing Roach and Pacquiao, with his friend 50 Cent.
