FG comes to Pacquiao’s defense

FIRST Gentleman Mike Arroyo is behind Manny Pacquiao in every step of the way.

“Bibigyan natin siya ng abogado. Willing na willing kami na magbigay ng abogado sa kanya,” said Arroyo, also a lawyer, upon learning about the issue involving Pacquiao and a former girlfriend with whom he allegedly has a child.

“Kawawa naman si Manny. Biro mo what he did for the Philippines tapos ganun ang ginagawa sa kanya. Hindi naman yata tama ‘yon. I already have a lawyer and kung maliit lang ang expenses, kami na ang bahala dun,” said Arroyo just before he distributed cash rewards to Southeast Asian Games medalists yesterday.

Another Pacquiao backer, San Miguel Corporation chief Ramon Ang echoed the same sentiment but went a bit further.

Pacquiao is being accused by Joana Rose Bacosa of having abandoned her months after she gave birth to a son who she said is a result of an affair with the boxer that began two years ago.

Bacosa, whom Manny met while she worked as a “spotter” at the Pan Pacific Hotel billiards hall, has filed a case the boxer citing R.A 9262 or anti-violence against women and children before the Quezon City Prosecutors’ Office.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao is back in General Santos keenly awaiting word from the US details about his planned tuneup bout in Manila sometime in May or June.
