GENERAL SANTOS CITY—Members of Manny Pacquiao’s family said they were surprised by the sudden appearance of Joanna Bacosa, who claims she has a son by the boxing icon.
Dionisia said his son has not confided anything to her.
Pacquiao’s 56-year-old mother even refused to issue further statements.
“It would be good if you wait for Manny. Ask him about it because I don’t know anything,” Dionisia said.
Dionisia had just gotten out of the hospital, where she was rushed last week after collapsing.
Her doctors described her case as overfatigue.
Bobby, Manny’s younger brother, said he could not believe any of Bacosa’s claims either.
“He had not said anything about an illegitimate child,” Bobby said.
The younger Pacquiao said he might only be convinced if he would be able to talk with Bacosa or her son.
Bobby said the controversy would also be put to an end if Bacosa agrees to submit her son to a DNA test.
He said Manny would not run
away from responsibility if it would be proven that he fathered the boy.
