Pacquiao, Arum going to Baguio

MANILA, Philippines ? Manny Pacquiao has decided to pass up the Manila leg of his training and will instead jumpstart his build-up for Shane Mosley by travelling to Baguio this weekend in time for the official start of training camp there on Monday.

Pacquiao adviser Joe Ramos said the pound-for-pound king and trainer Freddie Roach has agreed to slightly delay training camp but assured everyone that ?once Manny and Freddie begin working out, it would be impossible to stop them.?

The last weeks, Pacquiao worked out a sweat either by playing basketball or doing roadwork to prepare for Roach?s arrival.

Roach had arrived Tuesday morning and is raring to head to the City of Pines to help Pacquiao rev up for the May 7 showdown with Mosley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Sparring, Roach said, will not happen until after two weeks of training.

Sparmates Shawn Porter and David Rodela are arriving next week and will immediately be brought to the Cooyeesan Hotel, site of Pacquiao?s training camp for the fights with Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito in 2009 and 2010.

Pacquiao is a heavy 6-1 favorite to retain his World Boxing Organization welterweight crown against the 39-year-old Mosley.

Meanwhile, Nonito Donaire returned to the country the other day, assuring his fans and followers of more sensational victories down the line.

Donaire, whose second-round knockout win over Fernando Montiel fo Mexico two weeks ago in Las Vegas, which ranks among the most brutal endings the last few years, was joined by his wife Rachel on the trip from the US.
