GORRES STAY BUSY WITH POINTS WIN!
Las Vegas, NV-Already scheduled to fight in the Philippines in March, super flyweight, “Z” Gorres, out boxed the rugged Jose Alfredo Tirado over ten rounds to prevail by unanimous decision. Trained by Freddie Roach, Gorres, 116 lbs., counterpunched his way to victory, albeit showing very little power. Tirado, 116, tried his best to work the body inside, but the lefty kept him at bay with a jab and straight left. A lot of holding by both fighters, which resulted in referee Jay Nady deducting a point from Tirado for holding, as both men were cautioned for dirty play.

Gorres, from Cebu Province, improves to 22-1-1 (12 KO’s), while Tirando, from Culiac?n, Mexico, falls to 24-9 (19 KO’s). Official scorecard read: Bill Graham, Duane Ford, they both had it 98-91, while Dave Moretti’s card read 99-90.
AMONSOT DOMINATES LIGHTWEIGHT BOUT
In a lightweight bout, 20-Year-old super featherweight Czar Amonsot, 133 ?, won an eight round lopsided decision over Mexican Cristian Favela. Amonsot, (14-1-1, 10 KO’s), is from Tagbilaran City, Philippines and was making his United States debut. He’s also fought and won in Indonesia, a country where very few foreigners come out on top. Favela, now living in Los Angeles, 135, drops to 11-10-4 (8 KO’s). Both bouts took place at the Orleans Hotel & Casino
