Boxing is under investigation again, and I say dat’s great.
Throw da bums out.
The sport should welcome the FBI’s recent raid on promoter Bob Arum’s Las Vegas offices with open minds, if not open books. It’s a chance to weed out some of the bad elements so the good ones will be that much stronger.
And there is plenty of good. Boxing is not all bad. Really.
Exhibit A of that was the recent fight at the Alamodome. Manny Pacquiao versus Marco Antonio Barrera was boxing at its compelling best. No scandals, no cries of foul, no bizarre decisions.
The problem is moments like that are too few and far between.
