This isn’t one of those good guy Vs. bad guy fights. Shane Mosley and Manny Pacquiao both have quality personalities, neither of them spent any time in jail, or have been arrested for anything that the media can sink their teeth into. It’s just two good guys that like each other that will try to knock each other out in May.
It’s very apparent by both media stops so far that both men admire one another. There’s no smack talking, there’s no pushing or shoving, none of that. So far it’s Manny being the same humble Manny, and Shane being the same friendly Shane.
Most folks believe that Manny Pacquiao will end up defeating Mosley. This isn’t the case with everyone though. Some fans do believe that Shane has a chance to stun boxing and defeat Pacman. It is true that Manny does get hit fairly often when he fights. Mosley definitely carries power, and he is taller than Pacquiao. We have all heard this before though. Bigger and stronger guys don’t bother Pacquiao, at least so far they haven’t.
Mosley did not look so good in his last two fights. He lost convincingly to Mayweather and fought to an ugly looking draw Vs. Sergio Mora. The verdict is not in yet on whether or not Mosley is washed up or if he just happened to have faced two awkward fighters in his last two appearances. Look at video of the Mosley Vs. The fight lacks that good guy Vs. bad guy feel. Pacquiao’s last fight Vs. Antonio Margarito had all of the gravy. A bigger fighter wrapped up on controversy. The fans rallied behind their fighter, and the hype started.
In this fight, everyone likes both guys. There wont be that animosity between fighters, but I think the fight may surprise some fans. I think Manny wins this fight, but I do believe that Mosley will fight the fight of his life.
Mississippi has a lot of Shane Mosley fans. There are more Mosley fans down here then there are Pacquiao fans. With that said, most of the fans that I have spoken to all feel as if Pacquiao will win. I talked to Felix Lord of Newton, Mississippi who is a Shane Mosley fan. He agrees that his fighter is in for a tough night, ” Shane had a great career. I think that he is in way over his head against Pacquiao at this point. If he would have fought him in his prime, it would be different.”
