The beginning of the next act will start in a few days. Pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao will make his arrival in Los Angeles on February 9th during the PM hours. February 10th starts the press tour, and so the next Pacquiao show will start.
For many of the millions of Pacquiao fans, it doesn’t really matter that much who he fights, as long as they get to see him fight.
Of course if this was the beginning of the Pacquiao Vs. Mayweather show, the hype would be much more noticeable. That’s not the fight this time. This time it’s going to be Manny Vs. Mosley and by the looks of the ticket sales the place will be packed.
It’s the calm before the storm right now. The Wild Card Gym in Hollywood is running at normal pace. There are no crowds of people waiting around in the parking lot. There are no TV stations, media, reporters, and fans swarmed outside of the Thai Restaurant where Manny eats, its just calm.
This will soon change as the small breezes of the approaching storm arrives. Typhoon Pacquiao is bearing down on Los Angeles. It’s not quite close enough to trigger the Typhoon warnings, nevertheless, the storm is coming and in a matter of time the winds of change will begin.
I hope that the fans are taking all of this in, because there will not be many more times left. Pacquiao is by far old, but he’s not getting any younger either. His time in the ring is getting shorter and the day when he will hang up the gloves will arrive. He in this writers opinion is the greatest fighter that has ever lived. His 8 world titles in as many weight divisions is enough for me to call him the GOAT.
Mississippians that I have spoken to about this next fight have various opinions. Pacquiao fans for the most part are just happy to get to see him fight again. Jeff Stansford of Morton, Mississippi has been following Pacquiao since the beginning. He chimed in on the next fight Vs. Mosley, ” I think Manny will get by Mosley, but it’s not going to be as easy as some may think. Manny has a style that Shane likes. Manny will come right at Shane unlike Mayweather did to him. Even with that, I think Manny will be too much for him, and he will get the win.”
Devin Chambers of Canton, MS supports Mosley. She broke down the fight for me when I asked her for her thoughts yesterday, ” Shane has more in the tank then most folks think. Don’t let his last two fights fool you, he will not be the same as you saw in them. He is fast, and Manny his hittable.”
February 10th starts it off, and before we know it the fight will be upon us. Mosley Vs. Pacquiao the next big show in boxing.
