Perhaps the only definitive entrance song for Donaire, Jr’s upcoming fight

EXCLUSIVE side bar from Hollywood, Calfornia – The EDSA Revolution, also referred to as the People Power Revolution and the Philippine Revolution of 1986, will have its 25th year anniversary this 3rd week of February, three days just before the scheduled fight of Nonito Donaire, Jr. against the reigning and defending World Boxing Council/World Boxing Organization Bantam Weight Champion Fernando Montiel of Mexico.

Perhaps the only definitive entrance song for Donaire, Jr’s upcoming fight is “Handog ng Pilipino sa Mundo”. The same song would touch a greater number of the Filipino spectators, remembering the four days of peaceful action, from February 22 through 26 in 1986, by millions of Filipinos which led to the downfall of the authoritarian regime of President Ferdinand Marcos and the installation of Corazon ‘ Cory’ Aquino as president of the Republic.

Donaire, Jr.has dedicated his life in the ring to support the cause of Cory and her family’s political solidarity since his fight against Rafael Concepcion of Panama on August 15, 2009 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“Handog ng Pilipino sa Mundo” is a 1986 song recorded by a supergroup composed of 15 Filipino artists. The song became the anthem of the bloodless People Power Revolution featuring the following artists: APO Hiking Society, Celeste Legaspi, Coritha & Eric, Edru Abraham, Gretchen Barretto,Ivy Violan, Inang Laya, Joseph Olfindo, Kuh Ledesma, Leah Navarro, Lester Demetillo, Noel Trinidad and Subas Herrero.
