Bob Arum has hijacked Manny Pacquaio’s career. Bob Arum has done everything in his power to assure that they recieve the most money possible out of every match-up.
Manny Pacquiao has clearly stated “I miss my [congress] job” in his most recent series of HBO 24/7 and in the post fight interview against margarito he flirted with saying that he would like to “retire from boxing.”
Clearly, Congressman Emmanuel Pacquaio is still being told what to do. He has absolutely no say in what happens in his boxing career. Bob Arum simply says, you’re going to fight this guy or this guy, and Pacquiao, being somewhat sensible, picks the fight that will guarentee him the most money of course (doesnt he deserve the most cash being the alleged lb 4 lb king?
Even with Pacquaio being on 60 minutes, TIME Magzine and now with the recent jump to Showtime, i’m very worried for mr.pacman. He wants out of boxing. But in my eyes, mr.pacman is being forced to box against his own will. His promoter Bob Arum will not let him go without cashing out on him first (just like he tried to do with Miguel Cotto) Bob Arum is the boss and is forcing the man to continue fighting (contractually ofcourse). [I thought Pacquaio has done enough in boxing? All of a sudden he’s ‘allowed’ to cherry pick a Mosley who is 0-1-1 in his recent fights, one being shut down by Floyd Mayweather jr and the other, a DRAW vs the contender Sergio Mora!?]
All in all,
The pressure is building on Manny Pacman Pacquiao and the end result does not look good. He will be forced to fight untill Bob Arum says enough is enough. We now know with the recent comments from Pacquaio simply ‘wanting out of boxing,’ and Bob Arum jumping ship from HBO to Showtime because HBO will not support a BOGUS fight, Bob Arum’s true colors are revealed yet again. Bob Arums interests is not Manny Pacquaio, the fans, or the boxing community. Bob Arums interests are focused on just that, Bob Arum’s interests.
God speed Manny Pacquaio. You had a great run. But now you will have to finish what you started. Floyd Mayweather jr and the rest of the world are waiting for you to step up to the plate. Take the tests Manny Pacquiao.
