Manny Pacquiao ‘a work in progress’, learning the arts and wiles…, Arum says

Exclusive talk from Biltmore Hotel, Los Angeles, California – Smarting in a signature display of his intellectual prowess and a rare distinction of optimism in his own right, celebrated Harvard lawyer Bob Arum would surely not fail his intuition bolstering a colossal thought as a precursor for refining change. That, I could sense his appetite whets for more change in Emmanuel ‘Manny’ Pacquiao advancing his wish in fact, suggesting therefore a critical transformation of his world renowned boxer into a well-rounded, tough political prot?g? would have brighter relevance a decade from now affecting the political landscape of the Philippines.

“Pacquiao is such an extremely intelligent person,” Arum said during an exclusive interview with this writer at the famous Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles last January 11. “And he is ‘a work in progress’ conceivably learning the arts and wiles of politics and I believe he is going to be very successful in what he does and in what he will do as a politician.”

Arum also said that he is banking and will be supporting one-hundred percent on Pacquiao’s foray to become president of the Philippines.

“Having the lineage to live longer than a hundred years, I believe that will happen in my lifetime and I would humbly take that as my joy,” Arum said.

“I tell you Pacquiao will become the president of the Philippines when he reaches 42,” Arum added.

Arum has set his eyes on a plan to highlight Washington as one of the listed states for media tour of the Pacquiao-Mosley fight this coming May 7 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

And there’s more to it than just promoting this said upcoming fight.

Arum has asked his close friend, Majority Senate Leader Harry Reid, to arrange a meeting between President Barrack Obama and Pacquiao to discuss the ‘possibility of annexing Philippines’ to the US, Arum joked and laughed heartily.

Arum has asked Senator Reid to fix a ‘courtesy visit’ with President Obama at the White House while Pacquiao is in town for the media tour in Washington this early Spring. Arum has no word of confirmation for such meeting as of this writing.

Senator Reid won his fifth term as Senator, whom Pacquiao endorsed, and is bent to give Pacquiao a favor of making the meeting with Obama possible.

In addition to Pacquiao’s endorsement, the statistical report from Las Vegas Sun said Hispanic voters proved key to Reid?s victory.

Reid is the senior United States Senator from Nevada, serving since 1987. A member of the Democratic Party, he has been the Senate Majority Leader since January 2007, having previously served as Minority Leader and Minority and Majority Whip, his public record states.
