Manny Pacquiao has faced some criticism over his choice to fight Shane Mosley on May 7th. Some writers have called for a boycott of Pacquiao vs. Mosley. I am not one of those writers. I believe Mosley is a tough fight and I also believe Pacquiao has earned the right (after fighting Margarito) to pick his next fight.
In a recent article published by our friends at PhilBoxing, Pacquiao spoke out on the criticism he has received since picking Mosley.
Pacquiao stated: “I am no Superman. When I get hit, I pretend I did not get hurt so as to frustrate my opponent. That’s part of the sacrifice!”
In regards to the boycott being called by some writers, Pacquiao stated: “Funny, these same writers who ask for a boycott almost always cover my fights, anyway.”
Pacquiao is always an exciting fighter to watch, and I have no doubts that Mosley will be bringing his A-game. Seriously, F@#k the foolish boycott… is that a way to treat Pacquiao and Mosley, two amazing fighters that have done so much for the sport?! If you as a fan want to believe a boycott hype job by a few disgruntled writers, then it will be your loss.
