There is only one way Floyd Mayweather Jr is going to fight Manny Pacquiao.
And that way is the imminent threat of a long jail term once it becomes apparent that he will be convicted of the variety of felony charges now filed against him.
Otherwise, Mayweather will just go through the posturing but will never go beyond that.
That being the case, the best chance for Mayweather to earn that colossal US$50 million pay day will be early next year when hearings of the charges he is facing won?t still be a distraction.
One the trial proper begins, there is no way Mayweather could train and still be competitive against Pacquiao. Hearings could last a year. So the earliest a jury decision will be reached is in the first half of 2012.
One option for Mayweather is toenter into a plea bargaining for a lighter sentence then ask the court to suspend it to allow him to fight Manny. A farewell fight before he possibly will go to jail while his money earns interest in the bank would be a nice insurance money when he goes out of prison and pay the damages and attorney’s fees once convicted.
Shane Mosley, who according to Team Pacquiao sources has the inside track in the Pacquiao derby, will have to step aside to give way to that fight-that-will-not-happen-in-the-making.
But the way Mayweather continues to rant, you can practically kiss goodbye the thought of him fighting Pacquiao.
Mayweather?s obvious tactic, before he ran afoul with the law, is to wait for Manny to slow down before taking the fight.
However, Manny is showing no sign he will be on the slide. In fact, he is getting even more dangerous when pitted against bigger challenges.The only way Manny will slow down is when he will lose the zeal to fight. When there are challenges no more.
Manny, will not fight beyond 2013. In fact, taking one fight in 2013 may even be a remote possibility already.
Mayweather?s father Floyd Sr may be right after all, his son fighting Manny ?ain?t right.?
And he has is own reason for declaring so. Cut that crap, it isn?t about the PEDs.
