You remember Nicaraguan boxer Ricardo Mayorga, the only boxer I can think of that smokes a pack a day? That?s right, the same Mayorga who tried to move over to the MMA, after being knocked out in his last few matches, now wants to fight the world?s greatest pound-for-pound boxer.
Two years since Shane Mosley leveled him, Mayorga, 37, is back in the ring. Tonigh he fights Michael Walker (who has lost his last four fights by the way). In an interview with Telemundo Mayorga told a reporter that he could knock-out the ?Pac-Man.? He also said that he?d fight Miguel Cotto for free in Puerto Rico. Obviously, the bombastic ways of Don King have begun to rub off on his stable. Obviously, these two played out figures are looking for some attention.
Mayorga, like some other washed-up boxers, tried to switch over to MMA in a last ditch effort to make some bucks last year, but King sued him before he could take on MMA fighter Din Thomas.
But really, let?s be honest: The only thing Mayorga seems to be seriously fighting is early retirement.
