DESPITE DIFFERENCES with promoter Murad Muhammad, Los Angeles-based cornerman Freddie Roach said yesterday he is sticking it out with Filipino featherweight king Manny Pacquiao.
?Yeah,? Roach said, when asked by The Bulletin if local boxing aficionados would still see him call the shots when Pacquiao returns to the ring sometime in April. ?I guess I?m in.? In fact, Roach thought Pacquiao was already on his way to the US with business manager Rod Nazario to discuss terms of the Filipino lefty?s 2004 debut. A trip to the US remains on hold since Nazario is recuperating from a kidney operation. Nazario is confined at the Medical Center Manila in Ermita. The revered trainer said he has been trying to get in touch with the big-hitting GenSan puncher the past few days, but have been unable to do so.
