Fresh off of his not-so-impressive decision win over Marcos Maidana, Amir Khan is already making plans for his next opponent.
Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, says King Khan?s next fight will likely take place in England against Zab Judah.
?We are looking at Amir fighting in England in April and then bringing him back to the United States in July. We will look for another date to finish out the year,? Schaefer said. ?One of the names mentioned for April is Zab Judah.?
It would appear that Khan is clearly ducking a rematch with Maidana and I can?t say I blame him. He was lucky to come away with the victory after their fight on Saturday.
Although fans won?t be treated to a rematch anytime soon, it does look like Khan plans to stay busy. If he fights Judah in April, he wants to get in the ring again by July. Possibly against the winner of Timothy Bradley-Devon Alexander.
?We would be interested in exploring a fight with the Bradley-Alexander fight in July. We want to get Amir a fight back in England first,? Schaefer added.
Lately I?ve been taking a lot of heat from UK boxing fans for suggesting Amir Khan will never be a great fighter. Listen, I like Khan, but facts are facts. The guy has a glass jaw.
It?s true that he has speed, quickness and agility. I am also aware that Khan is still very very young. Unfortunately, his glass jaw isn?t going to get stronger with age.
Unless hitting an opponent in their face becomes illegal sometime within the next 10-years, Khan will never be an elite fighter.
