1,500 guests expected at Pacquiao?s b-day bash

MANILA, Philippines ? Whether Manny Pacquiao fights in the ring or celebrates a party, there are always a lot of people in attendance.

For Pacquiao?s 32nd birthday celebration on December 17, there will be up to 1,500 guests.

Some of the expected attendees, including politicians, celebrities, athletes and fans, will come as far as the United States and Puerto Rico.

?Maraming darating, hindi lang dito sa Pilipinas kundi from (the) United States,? said Sarangani Rep. Pacquiao, who visited Manila on Tuesday to attend to his congressional duties at the House of Representatives.

(Many will attend, not only from here in the Philippines but also from the United States).

Among the special guests are his boxing coach Freddie Roach, his promoter Bob Arum, and Puerto Rican champions Miguel Cotto and Juan Manuel Lopez.

?Good, good. Masaya ako (This is good. I?m happy with this),? said Pacquiao.

His birthday gathering will follow a ?musical? theme.

After Christmas, Pacquiao?s family will have a vacation either in Australia or Japan.

The boxer-congressman wants to take advantage of Congress? Christmas break to spend quality time with his children.

?Baka sa Australia o sa Japan kasi may Disneyland naman doon (Either in Australia or Japan since both places have Disneyland),? said Pacquiao?s wife, Jinkee.

With respect to his April 2011 fight, Pacquiao said he would have to meet with Arum first deciding on his next opponent.

The 8-division champion and reigning World Boxing Council (WBC) super welterweight king will have to choose among ?Sugar? Shane Mosley, Juan Manuel Marquez and Andre Berto. — With reports from Dyan Castillejo, ABS-CBN News, and Kathy Kasayan, ABS-CBN News SOKSARGEN
