EUGENE, GUSTONG ILAGLAG DAHIL KAY POKWANG?
A BIG reason why we look forward to watching ?Ang Tanging Ina Mo (Last Na ‘To)? is because it stars comedy gems, Ai Ai delas Alas and Eugene Domingo.
A question in mind is how will the two be billed. This is Ai Ai?s movie, no doubt about that but with the success of Kimi Dora, where Eugene hit stardom, would she settle for less, billing-wise? Do we see her name placed in a box preceded with that too important AND?
Also, who delivers the best punchlines and moments in the story?
Eugene reprises her role in this last installment which made Ai Ai a box-office queen in 2003 as the best friend of Ai Ai. Supremacy is not her goal as artist and performer. She simply wants to entertain moviegoers. She doesn?t mind if Ai Ai has the throne as she exclaims to everyone, ?Ai Ai is my Queen?.
Of course, she would feel bad if there is truth to the rumor na gusto siyang ilaglag in favor of Pokwang. Direk Wenn Deramas (who was spoofed in TV5?s Xmas party for the press) said he has no knowledge about this assuring Eugene even to the last minute that the role belongs to her.
?Parang d?j? vu ang magkasama-sama kaming lahat. It meant so much to me dahil I was included in the first two at tapos bigla akong mawawala sa final chapter? I will accept it kahit cameo lang ako,? she says.
But would this be the last unlike that horror franchise na tila walang balak iretiro?
Ai Ai says: “Maganda iyong habang tinatangkilik ay tutuldukan na. But who knows, someday, a new concept would emerge at kami na mismo ang magpo-produce nito.”
Direk Wenn laughingly adds, ?Kapag nag-box-office hit, it will be second to the last.?
NOT MISSING HEART?
ANG Tanging Ina reunites Ai Ai with her screen children, all grown-ups now like Marvin Agustin, Nikki Valdez, Carlo Aquino, Marc Acueza, Shaina Magdayao, Serena Dalrymple, Jiro Manio, Yuki Kadooka, twins Jaelle and Bianca Calma.
Do they miss the company of Heart Evangelista?
?Nakapanghihinayang at di siya kasama. There are situations that cannot be explained and we simply have to move on,? was the safe reply of Ai Ai.
