On Saturday in Las Vegas, Amir Khan takes on a tough challenge in Marcos Maidana. At a recent media event at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, California. Khan’s trainer Freddie Roach spoke out on an assortment of topics.
Roach believes Khan will be ready to face the likes of Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. after one or more fights. Speaking to the media at the event, Roach stated that if “Money” Mayweather won’t fight Manny Pacquiao, then maybe he’d fight Khan.
“If Mayweather won’t fight Pacquiao, maybe he will fight Amir,” stated Roach, adding: “I think he can beat Mayweather.”
Roach went on to explain why he feels Khan could handle “Money” Mayweather. “He is still young. He might be ready in one more fight or more. Thing is, his youth, his speed, his reach, he has a lot of attributes that can beat Mayweather or give him trouble.”
