WBA/WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez was shocked with the recent comments made by Manny Pacquiao. During a discussion with reporters in the Philippines, Pacquiao said that he didn’t care too much about a third fight with Marquez because the fans wouldn’t be interested in watching them fight again. He would rather go up against Shane Mosley, Andre Berto or Floyd Mayweather Jr. Marquez can’t believe those comments came out his mouth.
“I can’t believe it. He said people don’t want to watch a third fight, but he’s wrong. The fans want the third fight. People always ask me about a third fight with Pacquiao. Like I’ve said, he doesn’t want to fight me. He is the one who is running from the fight. I don’t know if it’s really him talking. Maybe the promoter [Top Rank] is telling him this, but something is not right,” Marquez said.
