After the Magnetic Resonance diagnostic imaging detected a legament tear in his left elbow, Alfonso Gomez is now being replaced by Top Rank with Pawel “Raging Bull” Wolak, 29, to challenge
undefeated World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver middleweight champion, JULIO C?SAR CH?VEZ, Jr., in a 12-round title fight this December 4 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Wolak (27-1, 17 KOs), from Mount Arlington, NJ, is a former New York State middleweight champion, boasting a two-year, six-bout winning streak, with three of those victories coming by knockout. His aggressive, high-pressure style in the ring would make his fight against Chavez, 24, exciting . A natural light middleweight fighter, Wolak only suffers one loss via a unanimous decision to Ishe Smith in 2008, boasting a knockout percentage of 60.71 out of 28 professional fights.
Wolak stands 5’8″ while Chavez, Jr. imposes 6′ 0″, both of orthodox stance.
On the other hand, Chavez, Jr., shows a remarkable immaculate record of 41 wins inclusive of 30 knockouts at 69.77% out of 43 professional fights with one draw.
