Past demons arise as Floyd Mayweather Jr. in more legal trouble

In August of 2009 Floyd Mayweather found himself in the headlines after a former acquaintance of his, Quincey Williams, was the victim of a shooting at a Las Vegas roller skating rink. The cause of the shooting was apparently from a fallout between Williams and Mayweather, as Floyd?s associate Ocie Harris was indicted on two separate felonies, one for attempted murder and the other for assault with a deadly weapon.

The story behind the shooting was that Williams had apparently had apparently sent Floyd a text message leading into his fight with Juan Manuel Marquez stating that he hoped the undefeated star would lose to the Mexico City fighter. Mayweather was apparently heated over the text and threatened Williams? life, according to reports. Williams? BMW was shot six times by Harris, a bodyguard for Mayweather at the time, as he was leaving the Crystal Palace Skating Center.

Now it looks like the past has reared its ugly head as Williams and Mayweather reportedly had another run in, this one taking place just mere minutes from Floyd?s personal gym on the West side of town. According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, Mayweather has been accused of assault with a deadly weapon after trying to run Williams? vehicle off of the road on Monday.

Williams was apparently driving his red Mazda sedan on Arville Road when Mayweather spotted him and decided to make a U-turn while later trying to ?run him off of the road?. Floyd was driving a white Bentley, says the LVRJ. Neither vehicle was struck during the incident.

Following the August 2009 shooting, Williams has reportedly feared for his life and claims that Floyd is detached from reality with his latest actions.

?He feels like he?s entitled to do whatever he wants and get away with it,? Williams told the paper of Mayweather. ?He wants to walk around and intimidate people like he?s some type of thug.?

Mayweather is currently counting down the days until a January preliminary hearing in Las Vegas Justice Court after a September 9th altercation with three of his children and their mother, Josie Harris. Floyd is charged with felony coercion, grand larceny and robbery. At the moments he is free on $31,000 bail but could be facing up to 34 years in prison if fond guilty on all accounts.

For the past year the boxing world has been eyeing a potential fight between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, who two weekends ago captured the vacant WBC junior middleweight crown after dominating Antonio Margarito over twelve rounds. A fight between the two men would be considered one of the biggest clashes of all time but it seems less and less likely that we will ever see it happen as Floyd?s plate gets fuller by the minute.
