It seems like Manny Pacquiao can do no wrong as of late in becoming a huge international star and impressing every time he steps into a ring. On the opposite end of the spectrum is Floyd Mayweather Jr. It was bad enough that Floyd went on a racist tirade about Pacquiao, but he now has legal trouble piling up seemingly by the day. The latest from the Las Vegas Review Journal:
On Monday, Mayweather was accused of assault with a deadly weapon for trying to force another vehicle off the road, according to a Las Vegas police incident report .
Mayweather was not arrested, according to jail records.
The accuser was 26-year-old Quincey Williams, a former Mayweather acquaintance and employee. Williams also was the victim of an August 2009 shooting at a local roller skating rink that investigators said involved an associate of the boxer. Ocie Harris was indicted on two felonies, attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the shooting.
Harris, the man who shot at Williams, was Mayweather’s bodyguard and Williams has maintained that Mayweather threatened his life earlier that day.
Mayweather was accused of misdemeanor battery when he got into an altercation with a security guard earlier this month, that investigation is ongoing. He is also currently out on bail for felony charges in connection with a domestic violence case. There have been other domestic violence charges against Mayweather which have been dropped but he was convicted of two misdemeanor domestic violence charges in 2003 and was convicted in 2005 of beating two women for seemingly no reason at Luxor in Las Vegas.
While it needs to be made clear that many of these cases are still under investigation, Mayweather is starting to work his way comfortably into that “do you really want to see him getting big paydays?” category that we talked about so much with Antonio Margarito.
