Pacman’s Vallejo concert a success

Manny Pacquiao proves that he not only packs a mean punch that knocks his opponents out, he can also carry a tune.

After winning his match against Antonio ?The Tijuana Tornado? Margarito last Sunday and holding a concert in Lake Tahoe, Nevada three days later, Manny held another concert at Hidden Brook Golf Club in Vallejo, California. The private event was attended by Pacman?s friends and the family of his close associates with the proceeds going to the Manny Pacquiao Foundation.

According to a report aired on ?24 Oras? on Nov. 18, the event organizers were surprised by the large number of attendees given that the venue is out of the way and that the concert tickets were quite costly ($150 and $250). Apparently, these factors did not stop the people from attending especially because they fully approved of its beneficiary.

?He helped all the poor in the Philippines, [for] humanitarian reasons,? one of the attendees said.

Pacman gamely sang for the crowd and even joked about his recently concluded bout.

?Sinong nakapanood ng laban ko last Saturday? Bugbog no? Bugbog din ako! Ay, bugbog siya, bugbog din ako… okay tayo dahil panalo tayo eh. Siyempre, proud ang Pinoy saan mang sulok ng mundo!? he told the crowd.

Vallejo mayor Osby Davis graced the event himself, presenting Manny with a city proclamation that made him an Honorary Vallejoan. Mayor Davis also declared Nov. 17 as ?Manny Pacquiao day? in Vallejo.

However, in a report aired on ?TV Patrol? the same day, it was alleged that a few attendees were dismayed as they weren?t able to participate in the Meet and Greet portion of the event. Nevertheless, according to most, it was enough for them to have been able to see their idol perform live.

Pacman and the rest of the Team Pacquiao left Los Angeles right after the concert for their flight back to Manila due here Nov. 20.
