8CountNews spoke to Margarito manager Sergio Diaz who provided us with the following injury update. Diaz wanted to reach out to Margarito’s fans to let them know that he the former 3 time world champ would be alright.
“Antonio is doing well. The swelling has gone down. He does have swelling around the eyes, which is normal in this sport. He has a minor fracture in the right orbital. I was told by the doctor that this injury is very common and there is nothing to worry about. Antonio is scheduled to have minor surgery tomorrow. The length of the surgery will be one hour. This is not a career ending surgery and Antonio will be able to resume with his career as soon as he is ready.”
