LAS VEGAS — Gore, violence, greed and betrayal. That’s just some of the poisoned watercolors that paint the ugly world of professional boxing.
But during yesterday’s Pacquiao-Morales II press conference at the Mouton Ballroom of the Wynn Resort and Casino, beauty made a very welcomed appearance.
The head-turning eye candy stood at about 5-foot-4 inches, her coal-black hair teased into a wispy ponytail. A former Ponds salesgirl, she knows much about epidermis care, and so naturally, her creamy skin glowed in the mid-aftenoon light.
She had the smile of a toothpaste model, and she was friendly. Her eyes burned with unbridled joy as she eagerly waved at her friends. She shook hands with well-wishers, and posed for photos with the heavy throng of Filipino souvenir seekers.
If there is such a position as the First Lady of Philippine boxing, Jinkee Pacquiao was born for the role.
Although she just quietly tried to mingle with the rest of the crowd at the press conference, Mrs. PacMan triggered a lot of stiff necks. Dressed in blue jeans and a maroon sweatshirt, she was staggeringly adorable in her simplicity. She rounded up her knockout ensemble with a pair of comfy walking shoes and a multi-colored bag.
I’ve seen Oscar Dela Hoya’s wife, Millie Corretjer, a pop music icon in Puerto Rico. I’ve also oggled at Shane Mosley’s wife, a beautiful woman of Japanese decent.
But tell you what, Jinkee can give any boxing wife a run for their money, pound by biubd and mascara for mascara. (HDS)
