ARLINGTON, TX – Dallas Cowboys owner and fight promoter Jerry Jones, in the midst of a horrible football season, has reportedly fired his head coach Wade Phillips Monday with eight games remaining in the disastrous 1-7 season.
Jones is co-promoting and hosting the Manny Pacquiao vs. Antonio Margarito fight Saturday night in his Cowboys Stadium.
Jones was a hero last March bringing Pacquiao vs. Clottey to the stadium and Jones was cheered when seen on the big HD TV screen. Dallas fans are very fickle and he might be hearing boos if he is shown on the screen this time around.
Many fans believe Jones has been pre-occupied with hosting the Super Bowl game and the Pacquiao vs. Margarito fight and have lit up sports talk radio stations and booed the Cowboys at home games.
A large crowd is expected Saturday night.
