Exclusive images: Behind the scenes at Manny Pacquiao?s media day in L.A.

It?s safe to say that people on the West Coast have been spoiled by Manny Pacquiao?s ring theatrics over the past ten years. Whether training in the confines of the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles or putting on a stirring performance under the bright lights of Las Vegas, Pacquiao has left a lasting impression of himself that soon won?t be forgotten.

Earlier today at the aforementioned Wild Card Gym, Pacquiao participated in an open media workout in advance of his November 13th fight with Antonio Margarito. What has been extremely interesting to note as of late is the whispers from some that perhaps Pacquiao?s fire is dimming when it comes to his duties as a prizefighter. Elected into congress earlier this year, it is his new role as a politician that some feel will pull Pacquiao away from the sport of boxing.

Pacquiao entered the facility around 2 P.M. and fielded questions from reporters from about 30 minutes as he walked in a full circle around the ring apron. Afterwards he did various stretch routines with his strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza before warming up and eventually hitting the mitts with trainer Freddie Roach. Pacquiao looked very sharp and focused but you have to wonder how much time he has left as a top level prizefighter.

For fans in Las Vegas, a Pacquiao media day in Los Angeles usually meant that he would be paying a visit to the strip a few weeks later to show off his skills, as he has fought in Nevada seven times in the last three and a half years alone. But with the Margarito fighting taking place at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, his absence has been notable in the area this year.

Let?s just hope that his showcase earlier this afternoon wasn?t one of his last.
