Argentinian middleweight world title holder Sergio Martinez will look to avenge a majority decision defeat against Paul Williams on November 20 in Atlantic City.
Martinez and William’s initial fight was a hard fought, razor thin affair on December 5, 2009, with the fighters trading knock-downs in the first round and the final score cards reading 119-110, 115-113, 114-114 in favor of Williams.
This time around Martinez, who is training in Oxnard, California, looks to take the judges out of the picture and finish off Williams early.
“This time around I am not going to leave any doubts,” said Martinez. “I am going to look to finish the fight as soon as possible.”
Bold words from the 35 year old fighter, but they are backed up with a tactical game plan.
“I will be more aggressive. I think that is what was missing in the previous fight. I am going to look for him with more aggression.”
Though not battered from a long and tenious career, Martinez is looking to walk away sooner than later and has Mexican Julio Cesar Chavez within his sights.
“I am looking for the big fights, the difficult fights,” said Martinez. “So it is a possibility that Junior would be would one of might final fights, because he sells tickets.”
