Former five time world title holder Mexican Erik Morales (50-6, 35 KOs) will take on Jorge “Hyena” Barrios of Argentina on December 18, 2010 at Caliente Racetrack in Tijuana, Mexico.
In the third fight of a comeback which began in March of this year, after a two year hiatus, Morales believes Barrios will serve as an excellent measuring stick.
?The final details are being handled, the negotiations are closing up,? said Morales in comments to Mexican news source Estadio. ?He wants to fight with me and it seems like an attractive fight with ?Hyena?, he is a dangerous opponent and will help me measure where I am at since coming back.?
Barrios, 34 years of age, defeated Wilson Alcorro earlier this month by unanimous decision over ten rounds and will enter the ring with a record 50 wins, 35 by knock-out, 4 losses, and one draw.
