MANILA, Philippines?Hollywood superstar Miley Cyrus has a tattoo on her left breast that says ?just breathe? and another, ?love,? on her right ear. These were done by Las Vegas-based Filipino tattoo artist Chris Garcia, who was in Manila recently for a two-week visit.
?She heard about me from her brother Trae, whom I consider a close friend and loyal client,? Garcia told Inquirer Entertainment during the ?Tattoo Las Vegas? event held recently at the Hard Rock Cafe Makati. The Cyrus family, including dad Billy Ray and sister Tish, are among Garcia?s patrons.
Stallone, too
Other celebrity clients who have sought out Garcia are mixed martial artist Brandon Vera, members of the pop-rock band Boys like Girls, and actor Sylvester Stallone.
Garcia is one of the artists working at the Club Tattoo in Las Vegas? Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino, owned by Chester Bennington of the rock group Linkin Park.
Working on Pacman
Garcia said he would love to work on boxing champ Manny Pacquiao. ?Manny and I had talked about different designs, but he said he wanted me to make him a tattoo of Pacman (the boxer?s moniker).?
Garcia said he had his first tattoo, a skull done by an artist in Olongapo, the day after he turned 18. ?I hid this from my parents for many years,? he said.
