On Dec. 11 at The Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, WBA junior welterweight (140 pounds) king Amir Khan (23-1, 17 knockouts) of England will defend his crown against WBA interim king Marcos Rene Maidana (29-1, 27 KOs) of Argentina in a bout that will be televised on HBO and promoted by Golden Boy Promotions.
Khan already has left for training with Freddy Roach in the Philippines alongside WBO welterweight (147 pounds) titlist Manny Pacquiao (51-3-2, 38 KOs), who is preparing for an HBO pay per view televised Nov. 13 fight with ex-champion Antonio Margarito (38-6, 27 KOs) for the vacant WBC junior middleweight (154 pounds) belt.
