The protagonists of Sunday’s “Sinulog Slambang” free-to-the-public boxing show at the Gaisano Country Mall car park will be weighed in officially today at 1 p.m. at the ALA Gym.
The fighters, led by RP welterweight titlist Dondon Sultan, will try to make their respective weight classes.
Sultan will be challenged by Cesar Yarte of the Rex “Wakee” Salud stable for the Philippines 147-pound division title.
Supporting the main feature fight is another championship bout between the recently-stripped RP flyweight king Federico Catubay against No.5 ranked Louie Bantigue for the vacant 112-lb Philippine Boxing Federation title.
Other bouts will feature ALA Boy Donnie Nietes versus Noel Veronque (106lb), Robert Allanic vs. Nonoy Devilleres (112lb), comebacking Sherwin Paro vs. War Bartiquil (115lb) and Pedro Malco vs. Roy Llanasa (122lb).
The card will also feature upcoming sensation from the ALA Gym, Rey Caitom against Rodel Tejares (105lb) and AJ Banal vs. Ricky Escaner (118lb).
]Also seeing action will be amateur boxing gold medalist Rogen Flores against Eddie Villegas and Noel Sungahid against JR Baclayo.
