It was a terrific show of superiority over a stubborn rival, which saw Marquez kiss the canvas on the eighth round after being dealt with a vicious left uppercut by the wily Filipino nicknamed the ?Filipino Flash?.
Despite his masterful showing and his fearsome reputation as the No.4 pound-for-pound boxer in the world today (next to Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Juan Manuel Marquez), the big bosses still seem to be unconvinced with what Donaire can bring to the table.
Talks of Donaire starring in the undercard of the Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr.-Alfonso Gomez fight this December grew louder as the days went by. But as of this writing, there are still no confirmations of who the 27-year-old Filipino will be facing.
