Iligan City- WBC International Minimumweight Champion Denver Cuello made a statement that he is ready to dominate the 105 and 108 divisions by being the first boxer to knock out the veteran Mohamad Rachman of Indonesia.
In a jam-packed MSU IT Gym, Cuello dominated the fight from round one giving Rachman a boxing clinic in every round. Rachman was game enough to engage but could never hit Cuello whose speed and ring generalship was just too much for the Indonesian Veteran. At round 9, a right hook crushed Rachman to the canvass. Rachman got up but never retained his full consciousness as he wobbly walked away from Cuello. The referee saw that Rachman had too much punishing and could no longer fight thus prompting him to wave his hands off giving Cuello a Technical Knockout Victory.
With the win Cuello?s record improves to W23 KO 13 L3 D5 while Rachman drops to W62 L9 KO31 D5. The victory will hopefully place Cuello on better spots among world rankings including Ring Magazine where Rachman is on the top 10 Minimumweights.
Cuello?s Manager Aljoe Jaro told this writer that Denver might defend his belt once more against Thai WBC International 105 Lbs Interim Champ Wanheng Minayothin before he takes on another crack at a world title.
Delayed telecast of the fight will be aired on GMA?s Laban ng Lahi at 10AM tomorrow, Sunday
