I spent much of Tuesday afternoon at the South El Monte Boxing Club watching Antonio Margarito (he looks very good, by the way) but I get to the office and I see that Boxingscene.com is reporting that jr. middleweight Alfredo Angulo is facing deportation and ESPN.com was reporting about a lawsuit from Golden Boy contending some funny business was going on in regards to the accounting of Manny Pacquiao?s most recent bouts with Top Rank.
My reactions?
First, it was known through boxing circles that Angulo was having some sort of immigration issues. But I?m told by a source that while he will be going back to Mexico, there are efforts being made to secure him a Visa.
As for the lawsuit, it?s just another example that the animus between Top Rank and Golden Boy is stronger than ever. This Cold War has gone nuclear.
