Talk about being in the state of denial. Floyd Mayweather, Sr., says he feels sorry for Brit Ricky Hatton for his current problems while his own son is facing grand larceny and possibly assault and battery charges for attacking his “baby momma” in this tale that continues to expand.
Quoted by www.fighthype.com, Mayweather, Sr., who trained Hatton for two fights – a win over Paulie Malignaggi and a KO-2 loss to Manny Pacquiao- said, “It’s sad how Ricky Hatton turned out. I hear he’s seeking help and let’s hope it works out for him.”
Josie Harris, who is the mother of possibly three of Mayweather, Jr.’s children has an alleged relationship with NBA pro basketball player C.J. Watson. Watson, 26, has played in Greece, for the Golden State Warriors and now playing for the Chicago Bulls. The relationship seems to have ignited everything once Floyd, Jr. found out about it.
It appears another person living in the house Harris was living in, Georgia Parker, possibly saw or heard the alleged attack on Harris. Mayweather Jr. allegedly called her and told her to leave the house that Mayweather still owns. One of the children may have also been a witness to the attack.
Prosecutors are looking at photos taken of the Harris injuries at Southern Hills Hospital and determining if they will press the additional charges.
Mayweather earned $65 million in the past year, the second most of any athlete after golfer Tiger Woods. He currently does not have a title. He fights in the welterweight (147 lbs.) division and has twice seen negotiations for a fight with welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao fail.
Just last week Mayweather took a public relations pounding after going on a racist rant against Pacquiao over the Internet.
On October 25th, Mayweather’s trainer and uncle, Roger, goes on trial in Las Vegas for assault and battery of a tenant of a rental property.
