Do you believe in Karma? I do. I am a firm believer in Karma, it exists, I am sure of it. I have seen Karma at work many times. I have seen it work in my life, and I have seen what it does to all the negative little and not so little haters out there. Karma is a wonderful thing. What comes around goes around. You get back what you give, I firmly believe it.
When you are arrogant and cocky, Karma has a way of checking you. Karma can humble a man, well some men anyway. Some men need double karma because they are too stupid or ignorant to learn the first time they get their legs knocked out from under them.
People who are financially free, those who can buy a small country, are in most cases very arrogant and self serving. There are exceptions to the rule, but on average it’s a fact. Floyd Mayweather Jr has made a lot of money, and he loves to flash it around and rub it in the faces of people. It’s a character flaw, and it’s not a very mature way to behave. Let us not forget about Karma. One way or the other, Karma will go into attack mode, and in Floyd’s case, it has already.
Floyd had the biggest opportunity in boxing history (Money wise) to cash in on up to 50 million dollars. All he had to do was to agree to fight Manny Pacquiao. Floyd chose not to. He chose to throw in his own demands, and even when Manny agreed to those demands, Floyd passed on the fight anyway. Floyd accused Manny of taking steroids. There was no basis for this, it was just a vicious accusation with no proof. Karma, can you feel it coming?
Manny agreed to all of Floyd’s demands, then what happens? Floyd passes on the fight anyway. Floyd then goes online and attacks Manny Pacquiao. He goes after Manny’s race, and drops F bombs, the whole nine yards. Karma…..Can you feel it coming?
Floyd’s racial attack back-fires horribly. Fans on both sides of the fence are disgusted by what he said. The media plasters what Floyd said all over the place. Floyd looks like an idiot, and he is forced to apologize. Karma.
Floyd then gets arrested for allegedly beating up his ex girlfriend, and then stealing her cell phone. He is charged and released on bail. Floyd’s mug shot is plastered all over the web. Karma.
Mississippians that I spoke to about Floyd’s behavior overwhelmingly are disgusted. Floyd fans from Jackson to Biloxi are appalled by what was said. Stan Nichols, the national chairman for USA Boxing’s Rules and Regulations committee a Mississippi based resident went on the record as well, “Floyd is an icon in boxing, and he needs to behave like one. He is a role model to a lot of kids, and he should realize that.”
Mayweather is looking at about 6 months in jail if he is convicted. Karma has done what many fighters have not been able to. Karma has knocked Mayweather on his backside. Time will tell for how long.
