A ‘devastated and distraught’ Ricky Hatton has publicly apologised to his friends, family and fans after film of the boxer apparently snorting cocaine emerged.
The 31-year-old former world champion said he had been in ‘bad place’ for a long time and took full responsibility for his actions.
Speaking on his behalf, spokesman Max Clifford said: ‘He just wants to let everybody know how he feels, he’s got to sort himself out.
‘I think it is fair to say, friends and family have been trying to warn him in recent times, for the last few months and now they are all hoping this situation will bring him to his senses.’
